This Does Not Help My Day

Booboolina: have you seen this? P&P Movie
JessaJune: oh my. No!
JessaJune: damn. Already?
Booboolina: I almost lost my lunch when I read that.
JessaJune: oh my GOD. Keira Knightly as Elizabeth. THAT is SO WRONG.
JessaJune: Meh.
Booboolina: that's exactly it
JessaJune: I predict SUCKAGE.

I am crying. Serious weepage going on right now. Although Judi Dench as Catherine de Bourgh will be entertaining.

That's almost EXACTLY what I said. We must be related.

But seriously, it almost ruined my afternoon.

P&P is probably my favorite book of all time. That said, I have to agree - Kiera Knightley as ELIZABETH?! Perhaps Judi Dench will save it.

Judi Dench might help, but LCdB isn't a bit enough part to save it in my opinion. Related, indeed...

Kiera Knightley is that girl from the pirate movie, right? Gahhhh.... Well, I do like the name "Kiera."

Ok, those of you speaking ill of my future-ex-wife need to watch it.........

Posted by: Jefe at January 19, 2005 10:48 AM

Jefe, you disappoint me.

Okay, I know if you like the lanky (i.e. ohmygodeatafuckingSANDWICHforcryingoutloud) look, she has an attitude which does not entirely displease, and a nice enough voice.

This does not change the fact that her look and attitude are irrevokably MODERN, and she has no business playing my (almost) favorite litery heroine ever. No business at ALL.

Posted by: Jessa at January 19, 2005 07:50 PM

awww crap, she's not MODERN. She's NINETEEN. Of course she's skinny.

And she's beautiful.....

and that accent.......

ok, gotta go.

I am afraid I must weigh in in favor of poor abused Keira. I think she has the potential to pull it off, and I can think of legions of worse choices. She has done some good stuff, I say wait ans see.

Harrumph. Men.

Yes she IS modern. (Ron, YOU at least should be able to see that.) It's the tone of her voice, her body language, her LOOK is completely modern.

I'm not saying she's not a good actor or anything. I'm just saying she's WRONG for the part. And the other women agree. So hmph to you both.
